‘Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’ animated series coming to Netflix in 2020

A new DreamWorks animated series in the “Jurassic World” universe titled “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous” is coming to Netflix in 2020.

Set within the same timeline as the 2015 film “Jurassic World,” the Netflix original series will follow a group of six teens chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime camp experience on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. When the dinosaurs wreak havoc across the island, the campers are left stranded and unable to reach the outside world. They’ll need to work together and go from strangers to friends to family if they want to survive.

Showrunners for “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous” are Scott Kreamer (“Pinky Malinky”) and Lane Lueras (“Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny”). The series is executive produced by Stephen Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, and Frank Marshall. Zack Stentz is the consulting producer.

Theme park fans might recognize the title of this new series, as it was filed as a trademark earlier this year for use not only with the show, but for “amusement park attraction and theme park services.” Many in the theme park community believed that this would be the new name for the Camp Jurassic kids’ area inside Universal’s Islands of Adventure. No such name change has yet been announced, though.
