Antique cars attraction returning to Kings Island in 2019

One of Kings Island’s fan-favorite attractions, the antique cars ride formerly known as Les Taxis, is returning to the park in spring 2019.

In this new Kings Mills Antique Autos family attraction, guests will board replica classic touring cars and take a drive around a scenic track with a small rail to keep the car on its path. The ride will be similar to the original Les Taxis antique car ride, but with a few new enhancements. This announcement comes 14 years after the original ride closed.

“When we ask guests what they would like to see return to Kings Island, the most popular response, by far, is the antique cars,” said Mike Koontz, vice president and general manager of the park. “For so many, it’s an attraction they remember riding with family or it was their first ‘driving’ experience as a kid. That’s why I think it holds such a special place in their hearts.”

Kings Mills Antique Autos will be located in Coney Mall, across from the Juke Box Café and by The Racer roller coaster. The ride will be a quarter mile in length and last three minutes long. The cars are 2/3 scale replicas of 1911 Ford Model T and will be brand new, but still have that classic vintage feel. The ride’s name, as well as its theming, will make the experience even more nostalgic for guests.
