A coaster will be laid to rest. As for which one, you’ll have to guess!

UPDATE – 09/27/18: Kings Island announced this morning that Firehawk is the coaster moving on into the big theme park in the sky at the end of their Halloween season.

Final rides will start this weekend, and the coaster’s final operating days will be Oct. 26-28, the final weekend of the park’s Halloween Haunt and Great Pumpkin Fest events.

Guests to the park’s annual Halloween event were able to see a new gravesite in the park’s “ride graveyard” display, made up for a future funeral service with a sign that reads: “The air is eerily calm as we make final preparations for the ill-fated demise of one of our own. RIP 10/28/2018.”

The park has confirmed that the attraction passing on is one of its 16 roller coasters. Final rides on the doomed attraction will start this weekend, with the last days of its operation on the final weekend of Halloween Haunt and the Great Pumpkin Fest from Oct. 26-28.

Which coaster, you ask? We’ll find out later this week. Until then, stay tuned to our website for more updates on this story, and the name of the dearly departing coaster in question, as they are announced.
