Knott’s Berry Farm going cashless starting Nov. 15
Knott’s Berry Farm has announced that starting next Monday, Nov. 15, it will be moving to a cashless transaction model throughout the park.
Guests will be able to swipe or tap their credit cards, debit cards, or smart devices with Apple Pay or Google Pay where they would normally use cash. Cards accepted include Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, as well as most debit cards.
Those who don’t carry a card will be able to make use of Cash-to-Card kiosks that can transfer cash to a card that can be used anywhere, not just at Knott’s Berry Farm. These cards can be loaded with any monetary amount, from $1 to $500, but are not reloadable once the amount has been spent. Cash-to-Card kiosks can be found at the following locations:
- North end of Main Gate
- Western Entrance
- General Store
- Casa Arcade
- Xcelerator Shop
- Grizzly Creek Lodge
There will be no fees to transfer cash to a card. However, a $3.95 per month fee will be charged to any remaining card balance after 92 days of no transaction activity.
Why is Knott’s moving to a cashless model? Because it allows the park to “conduct contact-less transactions, and it’s faster, safer and always secure.”
At this time, cash will continue to be accepted by all parking booths, in-park Christmas Crafters, California Marketplace, and the Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel.

Interesting development. But expected, from “all things considered”…. Cashless does seem the way to go, everywhere in the world. We’re fine with it. Although we’re not on the I-phone bandwagon at this time (we are phone-less outside of our land line). we still find that there are ways to by-pass using any cell phone… as long as we plan ahead, just like all of you cell phone-ers do
We left Knott’s Berry Farm not realizing that our daughter still had a large balance on her card that she got from the kiosk there we are back home in Oregon now can she use the card to purchase something online or anywhere else so that the money is not just lost to her?
