Lowry Park Zoo rebrands as ZooTampa and announces upgrades

ZooTampa is the new name for the Lowry Park Zoo, which opens a new family water ride this spring.

Lowry Park Zoo is now known as ZooTampa at Lowry Park, and the animal attraction has announced upcoming improvements to go along with its new name and logo.

The newly rechristened ZooTampa at Lowry Park recently launched its rebranding with the following “Zoo Beginnings” announcement video:

Along with the new name and logo, ZooTampa released information on a number of upcoming upgrades to their facility. Roaring Springs, a family water ride presented by Pinch A Penny, in under construction now for a late spring opening. After that, the park will renovate their Florida realm with a Key West theme; expand the Florida Boardwalk with black bear and panther habitats; install an upgraded life support system and improved guest viewing at the David A. Straz Jr. Manatee Critical Care Center; and add otter and stingray interactions.

“Our new logo is symbolic of our brand’s evolution during the past two years and our vision for the future. It is representative of our growing commitment to wildlife conservancy, as well as the major role we will play in the heartbeat of Tampa’s future,” said ZooTampa at Lowry Park’s CEO, Joe Couceiro.

Tampa Mayor, Bob Buckhorn added, “ZooTampa is a part of this city’s legacy. It’s a jewel that gives Tampa families and tourists a place to connect, have fun and learn about wildlife conservation. I am proud to have this beloved, iconic Zoo in our backyard. Their vision for the future aligns with Tampa’s growth and adds to our destination.”
