Celebrate National Boysenberry Day where it all started!

The boysenberry is a hybrid berry made of blackberry, raspberry, and loganberry. In 1932, Walter and Cordelia Knott made their mark by being the first to successfully harvest the berry. The Knott family began selling boysenberry jams, jellies, and preserves, which eventually led to the creation of Knott’s Berry Farm.

Today, all of the boysenberries in the world can be traced back to their roots at Knott’s Berry Farm. To celebrate this history, the park is inviting guests to dress in their “Berry Best” by wearing boysenberry-themed outfits for National Boysenberry Day. Photo backdrops will be provided for everyone to show off their stylish flair using the hashtag #NationalBoysenberryDay.

Guests visiting the park will receive a commemorative holiday pin to mark the occasion, and at 4 p.m. at Calico Mine stage, guests dressed in their “Berry Best” will get to participate in the first-ever National Boysenberry Day Fashion Show. The town’s Judge will select the participant with the most festive and creative ensemble to be the winner. The winner will receive a boysenberry prize and the reputation of being known as the “Berry Best Dressed.”

In addition, guests visiting today will have the chance to try over 75 unique boysenberry food items that are exclusively available during the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival, which runs from March 29 – April 28.
