’20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’ presentation Nautilus, more Disneyland memorabilia to be auctioned

Van Eaton Galleries has announced a new pop culture and Disneyland auction, called “The Art of Entertainment,” will take place on May 4, 2019 at 10 a.m. PT in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

This item up for auction has the distinction of being personally handled by Walt Disney himself.

One of the most exciting items in the collection is a rare, one-of-a-kind presentation Nautilus used by Walt Disney in 1954 to promote the classic film, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.”

The Nautilus model can be seen in old television programs with Walt and promotional images from the 1950s, and was constructed by hand from wood. The estimated cost for this unique item is $20,000 – $30,000.

“The Art of Entertainment” auction will also feature hundreds of rare and historic Disneyland items, including original art, props, models, posters, employee handbooks, signs, souvenirs, attractions models, maps and more.
