New details revealed on NBA Experience coming to Disney Springs

In summer 2019, the NBA Experience will open at Disney Springs, and the Disney Parks Blog has shared a few new details on this one-of-a-kind destination.

Guests of all ages will get the chance to live out their NBA dreams in a new way. Developed by Walt Disney Imagineering in collaboration with the NBA, this new experience will feature hands-on activities that showcase the action and excitement of professional basketball.

When guests step inside the immersive NBA Experience next year, they will:

• Experience what it’s like to be drafted into the NBA with a photo opportunity that re-creates the draft stage
• Track and improve jump shots and passing skills in a replicated NBA Combine challenge, and check their stats with a scouting report at the end of their session
• Step onto the court and hear the crowd as they play through a series of timed shots to aim for the high score
• Make a perfect slam dunk just like the superstars of the NBA, and have it captured by cameras surrounding adjustable baskets
• Test their ball-handling skills with an interactive trainer who will challenge guests with various dribbling routines
• Use an oversized slingshot to launch basketballs at hoops of varying heights, trying to make as many shots as possible before the clock runs out
• Immerse themselves in the history of the NBA and WNBA championship-winning teams
• Access a team locker room that shows up-to-date statistics and visuals of top NBA and WNBA players
• Test their knowledge of the NBA and WNBA with a trivia game that hosts up to 25 participants
• See two 180-degree cinematic presentations that replicate the in-arena experience before the start of the game, as well as stories from the players’ perspectives
• Take a seat at an interactive screen module and watch clips from NBA games, using the tools at the station to make the right calls
• Play interactive basketball games, including Pop-A-Shot and modern video games

On top of all of that, guests will be able to browse through a retail location featuring exclusive NBA-themed merchandise designed by Disney.
