Guest lockers are being updated throughout Universal Orlando Resort.

On July 9, the Revenge of the Mummy attraction officially opened its new locker location, moved from outside of the ride to inside the former entrance.

In addition to the relocation, the new lockers were updated with “Locker Link” technology, which has eliminated the fingerprint scanners and now allows guests to use the barcode on their ticket to reserve and re-open the locker. This change is said to reduce the time guests spend at a locker, making the stow-and-go process much more seamless.

These enhanced lockers should make guests’ storing of items much easier.

These new lockers also have measures to reduce theft, like sensors that will detect if items are inside and not allow a locker to be re-rented, along with live status updates on locker availability.

Based on these locker updates and Universal’s announced plan to update many locations throughout the parks, that may include a new locker location at the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey attraction at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The attraction’s current locker situation is known for being constantly crowded with guests trying to get their items stowed away.

  1. The locker situation and “false” sense of security checks all over the park are the absolute main reason we did not renew our passes last year. It’s such a hassle to do anything there.

  2. We were there yesterday. Actually had to skip the ride bc we couldn’t figure out how to use it. There was 590 people in a cramped space. Couldn’t find attendant. Screw it we went on to the next lame ride.

  3. Starting on dec 2nd they started charging for lockers again. This goes back in to the original predatory practices that turned people off originally and led to an overturn of policy. Now unless you want to be squeezed again, you can no longer ride as a family as someone has to hold items. Why ruin a good thing over pennies. HUGE TURN OFF! BE BETTER UNIVERSAL!
