The first-ever OrlandoCon runs from Nov. 24-26 at the Wyndham Orlando on International Drive.

As the convention season draws to a close for 2017, a new local convention is about to give Orlando another dose of nerd pop culture: OrlandoCon.

The new convention begins on Nov. 24 and runs through Nov. 26 at the Wyndham Orlando Resort on International Drive. This experience will bring science fiction, gaming, and more to the Central Florida area.

Some of the celebrity guests coming to OrlandoCon this year include Pearl Mackie of “Doctor Who;” Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd of “Torchwood” and “Doctor Who;” Matt Santorelli, inker at DC Comics for Green Lantern and Superwoman; and Jim Korkis, Disney historian and author.

As part of the convention’s offerings, a special Torchwood Breakfast will be offered on Sunday, Nov. 26 at Planet Hollywood in Disney Springs. Hosted by David-Lloyd, this buffet breakfast could also see some surprise guests make a stop at the event. Tickets for the breakfast are $40 per person, and the meal is included in that price. You can purchase your tickets here, and read about the event on its Facebook event page.

  1. Please fact check, this was an event I attended in the 90s. Either it came back or the children running it stole the name.
