The upcoming Toy Story Land expansion to Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the first of many new offerings coming to the park in the near future. This photo report, with shots provided by our contributor, @bioreconstruct on Twitter, checks out the current progress on Toy Story Land, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and the new park entrance. Toy Story Land has certainly sprouted up quickly in the past year. It is planned to open June 30th, with possible soft-openings before hand.

Toy Story Midway Mania is currently in the process of altering its entrance. Upon completion, the new entrance will be inside Toy Story Land, instead of facing Pixar Place, where it currently resides. We expect Pixar Place will be shut down.

On the right side of the new entrance of Toy Story Midway Mania will be Woody’s Lunch Box. This new quick-service location will offer meals and old-fashioned soda floats. The colorful blocks on the right are also expected to be a merchandise shop of some kind.

This image showcases the side of Toy Story Land and Toy Story Midway Mania closest to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. A new back-route is currently being built for re-entry to Toy Story Land after riding Toy Story Midway Mania. It will also give cast members easy access to the backstage areas of the park.

Across the walkway from Woody’s Lunch Box will be Alien Swirling Saucers. This attraction will be closely related to Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure.

This shot helps showcase the progress on Alien Swirling Saucers and the Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster in the past year. The multiple blue and grey circles at Alien Swirling Saucers are the track for the attraction. The ride is a modern take on the spinning teacup style attractions.

Nearby is the entrance to Slinky Dog Dash. This dual-launching coaster will take guests zooming on the back of the character Slinky from the Toy Story films. This coaster will also take up a significant amount of the area in Toy Story Land.

This overview helps to showcase the massive size of the Slinky Dog Dash attraction. It also appears the land is being finished in phases. Slinky Dog Dash appears nearly complete. Alien Swirling Saucers is almost done being painted, and looks ready for landscaping. While Woody’s Lunch Box appears to need much more exterior work.

Looking behind Toy Story Land, you can see the firework launching pad for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The far top-left side of the image shows where most of the dirt was taken for the construction of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land.

Near Toy Story Land is the show building for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Bioreconstruct made the assumption, with which I agree, that this is a new cooling system being installed. This new ride boasts 3D technology without the use of glasses. We can safely assume that, this means a lot of projectors throughout the building. Therefore, the building itself will need a heftier cooling system to keep up with all the new tech.

These last two photos help to show the progress on the upcoming Disney Skyliner gondola system. This transportation system will connect Hollywood Studios to Epcot and numerous close-by resorts. The large area of tree clearing, near the path for the Skyliner, will become the new sole entrance to Hollywood Studios. The park is expecting numerous new experiences in the future, along with a possible name change. With Toy Story Land opening June 30, it is great to see this park receiving the much needed love it deserves.
