The Polar Express Train Ride is arriving in the station in Tavares, Fla. this winter.

Families will get the chance to come together this holiday season and take a train ride to the North Pole on The Polar Express for a one-hour trip from Tavares, Fla.

Once aboard the train, the car host will travel up the coach and punch each passenger’s ticket, just before sweet holiday treats and hot chocolate are served by dancing chefs. The passengers will then get a chance to read along to the classic story, “The Polar Express,” by Chris Van Allsburg.

Once the train arrives to the North Pole, Santa Claus and his helpers will board the train to greet guests and give each child their first gift of Christmas – a silver sleigh bell, just like in the story. The entire trip will be filled with live entertainment and characters to help create lasting memories.

The Polar Express Train Ride runs on a point-to-point route through Lake County from Tavares, Fla. Tickets are required for each passenger, and can be purchased online, with Standard Class Coach seating starting at $38.

Guests are encouraged to arrive one hour prior to their departure time, and are even encouraged to come in their pajamas, just like the children who board the train in the story. Boarding the train will take place adjacent to the Will Call ticketing area at Tavares Square.

Guests can book tickets to ride The Polar Express starting on Nov. 17 through Dec. 30.

  1. Is this the same set up as 2016 or has the format changed. When I took my son the beverages and cookies were given on the platform and it was carols not a book. Also the children were not given bells.
