Out-of-work theme park artists create new interactive online theatrical experience

Some out-of-work actors, musicians and others you may recognize from various theme park performances have joined Odd-o-Ts’ Entertainment in a new online interactive theatrical game called “The Secret Library.”

The Secret Library is a 90-minute fun and funny experience where live performers interact with game players in real-time. Participants work to solve mysteries in an escape room-style puzzle while working through a storyline. Those participating log onto a website and start chatting with each other and the actors as they click around to different rooms in a mansion as the story unfolds. The game’s characters help the participants along in solving the clues. Because of the live actors and interacting audience, each show is a bit different.

Audience members from around the world participate virtually based on their time zone. Live performers broadcast in from various locations around the United States, including Central Florida, Virginia, Georgia, and New York City. The game runs off customized software originally built for meetings and online conferences.

Odd-o-Ts’ Entertainment, the company behind the experience, has a long history in providing live entertainment to some of the largest theme parks and venues in the world in the form of characters, stilt walkers, living statues, musicians, circus acts, and more. One such example are the funny and talented Longshoremen at SeaWorld Orlando. But the writers, actors, producers, and directors in The Secret Library have backgrounds in some of your favorite shows at Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, and more.

“With the live entertainment industry on pause worldwide, we have pivoted our live entertainment to online experiences, but are still able to offer uniquely personalized, unforgettable experiences for our guests,” said Todd Zimmerman, co-founder of Odd-o-Ts’ Entertainment and creator of The Secret Library. “Our desire is to continue performing during this difficult time, to offer an escape to those who dare to go on an adventure, but would like to stay safe at home.”

Performances are currently scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m., but may be expanded due to popularity. Each show can only accommodate a maximum of 63 participants per night, which helps them provide a personal experience for each audience member. The game is played within a clickable interactive platform. Because of this, computers are recommended and tablets and smart phones are discouraged.

Tickets are available for online at SecretLibrary.io, but the company is giving away 10 tickets every week via Facebook . Fans may enter to win on the home page of their website, where winners will also be drawn at random on a weekly basis.
