Experience a new season of fear this Halloween season at ScareHouse.

Named one of the 10 scariest haunted houses in the country by Travel Channel, Buzzfeed, Forbes and more, ScareHouse is back and ready to expose your true fears.

Even though it’s only open for a short time each year, ScareHouse is a year-round operation as it prepares for the Halloween season, and features four frightening attractions in one place.

This year, ScareHouse’s offerings include:

  • Pittsburgh Zombies: Re-Animated – A zombie outbreak has overwhelmed the city in this tribute to the original trilogy of “Living Dead” movies by George A. Romero. As you seek refuge from zombies of every sort, you’ll find references to modern zombie classics like “Return of the Living Dead,” “Shawn of the Dead,” and “The Walking Dead.”
  • Nocturnia 3-D – This experience transports guests back to a haunted carnival in the early 1900s. Reminiscent of “Carnival of Souls,” those brave enough to explore these fairgrounds should expect more than clowns and carnies as darker figures wait around every corner.
  • Infernal Darkness – This sequel to ScareHouse’s “Infernal” attraction invites guests to enter an abandoned museum that was the former home of demonic artifacts. Guests will be plunged into the darkness, guided only by flickering candles as they try to escape the bloodthirsty spirits.

In addition to these three mazes, ScareHouse’s bravest guests can explore “The Basement,” an intimate horror experience where groups of no more than two will confront their worst fears.

After traveling down a flight of stairs into the underbelly of ScareHouse, guests will encounter intense and R-rated horrors that will challenge their limits. Guests must be 18 or older to participate, and must sign a waiver prior to entry. Those who take part in The Basement must be prepared to handle experiences like total darkness, electricity, and intimate encounters with intense actors.

“The ScareHouse team works all year round to conceive, design, build and create what we hope is a destination for anyone who loves to be scared out of their minds,” said Scott Simmons, creative director of ScareHouse. “We’re incredibly proud of what has turned into our most expansive, most visionary season yet, and we are eager for longtime fans and new visitors alike to experience what we’ve got in store for them.”

Tickets start at $17.99 for general admission and $40 for front-of-the-line access, and can be purchased online. Tickets to The Basement are separately purchased and start at $31.
