SeaWorld San Diego kicks off summer with Memorial Day Weekend fun

SeaWorld San Diego is getting the summer fun started this weekend, as the park will celebrate Memorial Day with fireworks, a 75-piece marching band, and more.

The park will also be celebrating the debut of its new dueling coaster, Tidal Twister, as well as the return of the Sesame Street Party Parade. The parade features nine themed floats, two show stops and plenty of your favorite Sesame Street characters. The parade will run every weekend through Sept. 1.

Friday, May 24

  • Tidal Twister officially opens

Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26

  • Military recognition before all Orca Encounter presentations
  • Sesame Street Party Parade – 4:45 p.m.
  • Memorial Day Fireworks Tribute – 8:50 p.m.

Monday, May 27

  • Memorial Day Flag Ceremony at Explorer’s Reef – 10:15 a.m.
    • Includes a performance from 75-piece Valley Center High School Marching Band
  • Military recognition before all Orca Encounter presentations
  • Valley Center High School Marching Band on lawn in front of Skytower – 1 p.m.
  • Memorial Day Fireworks Tribute – 8:50 p.m.

All of these offerings are included with park admission, and SeaWorld will be open until 9 p.m. for the festivities.
