Deconstructed: ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ teaser trailers released

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” is the upcoming action packed sci-fi adventure based off a young Han Solo. This deconstructed breakdown showcases the new characters and vehicles, as well as a possible spoiler.

The new movie premieres in theaters this Memorial Day. Two teaser trailers debuted, a shorter one during the Super Bowl, and a longer version this morning.

The trailer begins fast on an Imperial controlled planet with Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) and Qi’Ra (Emilia Clarke) racing away from Stormtroopers.

Han Solo is wasting no time in his escape, smashing through the city in a vehicle rumored to be called a podcar. The director of Solo, Ron Howard, starred in American Graffiti along side Harrison Ford. American Graffiti’s highlight on fast cars, directed by George Lucas himself, seems to have influenced Howard in his rendition of a Star Wars car chase.

From here, a new version of the Imperial speeder bike is seen, along with what appears to be modified Stormtrooper armor.

Next is a shot of the Millennium Falcon with Han Solo getting perhaps his first ever look at the spacecraft. The trailer also showcases the ship in a pristine, pre-modification look.

Afterwards we get a look Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson). He tells Han Solo he’s assembling a crew.

This crew appears to consist of, from left to right, unnamed alien, Qi’Ra (Emilia Clarke), unnamed droid (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), unnamed character (Thandie Newton), and Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover).

Later on in the trailer we see this spacecraft flying near a collection of drone type vehicles carrying a piece of a train.

This twisting train can be seen in the Super Bowl teaser trailer.

We can also see what appears to be Woody Harrelson’s character fighting on the train as it is getting tethered.

Afterwards we see the same spacecraft flying away from a massive explosion. It appears the train explodes, or at least the piece that was tethered did.

After the title sequence, we see this incredible shot of a Star Destroyer in a storm. The Star Destroyer, with a new version of TIE fighters, are chasing the Millennium Falcon.

The Millennium Falcon does a spin move to smack a Tie Fighter into an asteroid.

Afterwards we get a look inside the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon.

Lastly it is revealed the storm is being created by a massive alien creature.
