Four popular singers were recorded today at the Magic Kingdom, giving their performances on Cinderella Castle stage, then later posing with Disney characters. The segments are part of the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade, which will air Christmas morning on ABC-TV. On hand were Jackie Evancho, Lee DeWyze, Sean Kingston and Darius Rucker. [Read more…]
All 53 contestants for the title of Miss America 2011 visited the Magic Kingdom today. After a couple of days delay, the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade television taping finished up yesterday at the Magic Kingdom. We brought you photos from the first day of recordings featuring Yanni and Kris Allen last Thursday, and the tapings were to continue the next two days, but Mother Nature had other ideas with constant rain.
On Friday, Celine Dion’s performance was moved to the Grand Floridian Resort, where she had fans packing all of the balconies. (Click here for more photos of her performance, courtesy of Robert Ashburn.)
On Sunday morning the show went on with a performance by the Jonas Brothers around Cinderella Castle. We weren’t able to make it to the park that early, but you can read more about it at The Daily Disney. The audience were taught some dance moves, as you can see in the video below.
The Main Street portion of the parade started in the early afternoon. It was slow going as most floats or parade performers came down the street one at a time. Most stopped to perform, sometimes more than once so all the cameras could capture just the right shots. Here’s an iPhone video I shot of Mickey and his pals dancing in the street with park guests.
Our full photo gallery of photos from yesterday’s television taping is below. The full parade can be seen on the ABC network Christmas Day.

When it was revealed tonight that Donnie Osmond and Kym Johnston became the latest celebrities to win “Dancing with the Stars,” I immediately thought of the unreleased video of the pair that I shot in September at Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif. before the now-concluded season of the show began.
While I had previously posted video from the D23 Expo of “Dancing with the Stars” professional dancers Derek Hough and Cheryl Burke performing on stage, I didn’t bother uploading any of Donnie and Kym as we were unfortunately only permitted to record their introduction, not their actual dance (which we were told was “D23 audience exclusive”).
But now that Osmond and Johnston have won the latest season of the hit ABC show, it seems like an appropriate time to share the couple of minutes we were able to capture:
Of course, none of this has anything to do with Orlando, but since we attended the D23 Expo anyway, I figured there was no reason not to share this additional bit of video.
Here are a couple more photos we took of Osmond and Johnston at the D23 Expo:
You can see more “Dancing with the Stars” photos in our D23 Expo photo gallery.
“Dancing with the Stars” dancers Cheryl Burke and Derek Hough treated Disney fans at the D23 Expo to a performance during the ABC presentation. Here’s a video of their dance:
While we realize this really has nothing to do with Orlando theme parks and attractions, we know that “Dancing with the Stars” has millions of fans and figured a few of our readers would enjoy seeing this. There will be many more Disney and theme park-related videos, pictures, and posts to come.
Donnie Osmond and his soon-to-be dancing partner Kym Johnson also performed – but no video was allowed during that dance as it was a D23 Expo exclusive.
Here are a few more photos from the autograph session with the Dancing of the Stars perfomers and host Tom Bergeron:
