Tryouts are being held for the long-running game show at noon and 5 p.m. on those dates at Universal Orlando and are only available by appointment. If you have five blood- or marriage-related relatives who will be available, call 323-762-8467 or e-mail [email protected] and leave your preferred tryout date and time, name, e-mail and phone number, then wait to see if you’re contacted. They ask you only contact them once and only by phone or e-mail, not both.
Another TV show will be at Universal that same time. America’s Got Talent will be filming on April 7 and 8 at Hard Rock Live in CityWalk. Free tickets to see the show may still be available.
There has been plenty of coverage of Disney’s American Idol Experience attraction over the last few months (including gracing the cover of one of our recent issues), but now it’s time for the real thing.
American Idol Season 9 auditions are coming to Orlando’s Amway Arena this week. Registration takes place on July 7 and 8 with auditions being held starting at 5 a.m. on July 9.
Here are the address and telephone number for the Amway Arena:
600 West Amelia St.
Orlando, FL 32801
The line will form beginning on the arena’s south side.
But don’t forget that if you’re planning on attending the Orlando audition, you might as well head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park and sing in The American Idol Experience. If you win a day’s singing competitions there, you’ll receive a skip-the-line pass for any regional American Idol television show audition, including the one in Orlando this week.
Visit the official American Idol web site for more audition details.
