A lot has happened in the Orlando area theme parks in 2009. Some new attractions were announced, some have closed down and some have opened up. Let’s count them down.
It’s hard to tell which stories are really the most popular during a year since a story posted in January obviously has been online longer than one posted in December. So here are three we feel are worthy of an honorable mention.

Our upcoming Fall 2009 issue includes a full story on the newly opened Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. If you’re a Disney Vacation Club member staying at the resort, you’ll have access to the Top of the World Lounge. It’s on the top floor with a large balcony that offers a great view of the Magic Kingdom and the nightly fireworks show, “Wishes”.
Here’s a panoramic shot of the view just after the show. You can see a larger version of this photo and others in our Photo Gallery.
Although there’s nothing better than seeing it in person, if you’re not a DVC member, we have you covered. In promotion of our Fall 2009 issue, we present to you the entire “Wishes” Magic Kingdom fireworks show as seen from the balcony outside of the Top of the World lounge.
