New tests at Disney World signal the end of paper FastPasses and FastPass machines

Disney stopped offering paper FastPasses at Animal Kingdom in mid-December, forcing all guests to book FastPass+ if they wanted to skip the lines, and now they’re set to expand the “test” to the most visited theme park in the world, Magic Kingdom.

Disney has been testing various parts of their MyMagic+ system for the past few months, but today marks the first time the system, including MagicBands and Fastpass+, will be tested end to end with guests.

Disney officially announces FastPass+, MyMagic+ and MagicBands for a personalized guest experience

Disney has officially released information on the next generation of their FastPass system and other enhancements they’re calling MyMagic+. The new system is said to give guests a more personalized vacation through the use of a new wristband called MagicBands.
