This year’s Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will bring the return of long-buried icons of the past alongside new nightmares to celebrate “20 Years of Fear.”
The Dark Side of the Gardens has transformed the usually family-friendly Busch Gardens theme park into a creepy haunt once again. This year, Howl-O-Scream’s 13th year of fear, they are furthering their theme of the Dark Side of the Gardens with new street experiences, shows and haunted houses.
Back from the grave is Scream Cam, an opportunity provided by Busch Gardens Tampa to strap on a camera and experience one of the new haunted houses. At 1 a.m. this past Thursday morning, I got to experience one of the two brand new houses, Blood Asylum.
Late last week, Busch Gardens Tampa hosted their annual High School Journalism Day. We tagged along as the students got an exclusive inside look at this years Howl-O-Scream event. The students were taken through many of the steps to putting together one of the world’s premier Halloween events.
It’s September, which means haunt season is just around the corner with Howl-O-Scream and Halloween Horror Nights starting in just a few weeks. Over at Busch Gardens Tampa, their annual merchandise store for Howl-O-Scream: Shop of Horrors is now open and features a multitude of merchandise themed to this years event.
This afternoon, Busch Gardens Tampa revealed its full line up of houses, scare zones, hordes and more for Howl-O-Scream 2012. On Select nights in September and October, this unlucky 13th year of Howl-O-Scream will lure guests into the “Dark Side of the Gardens” once again but this time to “Unlock the Fear Inside.”
With Howl-O-Scream, Busch Garden Tampa’s annual Halloween event starting in just a little over a month, construction is in full swing. The above photo shows the gate and signage for Alone which were installed late last week.
Earlier today Busch Gardens revealed the icon for their 13th year of Howl-O-Scream. Trickster, who is a monster with cloudy eyes and a gruesome face, will be dwelling in the gardens at this years event.
