Theme park face mask requirements not likely to end soon; What a vaccine could mean for visitors

As people across the world hope for a COVID-19 vaccine to be ready and distributed as soon as possible, what could that mean in terms of the changes we’ve seen in the theme parks so far? Will guests and employees still be required to wear masks? Will plexiglass still separate you from the row in front on your ride vehicle? Will your party still need to stand on a sticker six feet away from another party? The short answer? No one knows yet – or has announced plans for these circumstances.

Movie Review: True football fantasy ‘Safety’ is new Disney classic

Hollywood has mined a rich vein of football movies over the years, from “Heaven Can Wait” (1978) and “Rudy” (1993) to modern classics like “Remember the Titans” (2000) and “The Blind Side” (2009). The latest addition to this collection of sporting celluloid is “Safety,” a Walt Disney Motion Pictures release and a true contender for ‘Feel-good Movie of the Year.’

Our visit to Discovery Cove during the pandemic

With most theme parks reopen from the COVID shutdown, everyone is getting used to new social distancing and mask mandates. The big name parks are always in the spotlight when it comes to showcasing their new safety requirements and how they’re handled, but one park that often gets overlooked is SeaWorld’s Discovery Cove. Hong Kong Disneyland, reopening this week, to be open five days a week

Hong Kong Disneyland reopened in June, only to close again about a month later in July, but in alignment with the latest guidance from health and government authorities, Hong Kong Disneyland is reopening again on Sept. 25, 2020.

Theme parks could be safer than your local grocery store for avoiding COVID-19

In some states and counties, people are required to wear masks in public and practice social distancing. But even in those areas, some businesses simply do not enforce the rules. On the other hand, many have praised theme parks, like Universal Orlando Resort, for their safe practices and extensive cleaning processes, including taking the temperature of every guest — something most grocery stores don’t do.
