Hong Kong Disneyland Park has announced that it will welcome guests back on Feb. 19, 2021, with enhanced health and safety measures to ensure a carefree and magical experience.
During The Walt Disney Company’s Q1 FY2021 Earnings call on Thursday, Feb. 11, CEO Bob Chapek shared the company’s expectations for COVID-19 precautions at the Disney Parks and what guests can anticipate in the future.
December is always one of the busiest times in Orlando for the theme parks. That fact was very apparent today when both Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure were closed for capacity before 9 a.m. Due to social distancing measures, all the major parks in Florida have followed CDC guidelines to limit visitors, which has reduced capacity to less than half for most locations.

Walt Disney World has been gradually updating loading procedures for numerous rides, including Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, Expedition Everest and Slinky Dog Dash, loading guests into empty seats in every row previously used to socially distance amid the continuing coronavirus pandemic – a change in the parks’ initial health and safety protocol upon its reopening in July.

“Festival of the Lion King,” a beloved fan-favorite show, did not re-open when Disney’s Animal Kingdom did back in July.
