The Wet ‘n Wild water park on International Drive will be closing for good at the end of next year.
Wet ‘n Wild Orlando will host its annual Waves of Glory event celebrating emerging artists in the Christian rock, gospel, punk and R &B genre this year on April 27, 2013. The event will feature a live concert performance by two-time Grammy nominated, Dove Award-winning artists Sanctus Real.
This week we take a break from the “what’s new” kind of details and instead focus on two water parks. We’ll do the usual “close inspection” of Photo Finds, but our topic this time will be established parks to compare them: Blizzard Beach (Disney) and Wet ‘n Wild (Universal).
Wet ‘n Wild Orlando celebrated the grand opening of its newest attraction today, June 2, 2012. Blastaway Beach is a family-friendly, sandcastle-themed water playground. It’s touted as the largest water playground of its kind in Florida and Wet ‘n Wild’s first new attraction in over four years.
From June 10 to Aug. 20, Wet ‘n Wild will host their Summer BBQ Beach Bash every Friday and Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering entertainment and food in addition to their rides and attractions.
The Travel Channel’s Bert the Conqueror is coming to Orlando and he’s looking to conqueror the Wet ‘n Wild water park. You may be able to see the filming and be on TV.
