The circus is coming to town, new Amway Center will host the 'Greatest Show on Earth' for five days

If you’re going to see a circus, there’s none more famous than the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey. And this “Greatest Show on Earth” is coming to one of the newest arenas on Earth – the Amway Center in downtown Orlando.

This 141st edition of the circus is called “Fully Charged” and will feature acts from all over the globe. Guests will see breathtaking dare-devilry, superhuman stunts, animals and never-seen-before performances including The Human Fuse, who will rocket across the Amway center stage.

The circus will perform each day from Thursday, Jan. 13 to Monday Jan. 17. But those near downtown Orlando may want to get their cameras ready on Monday night, Jan. 10, as the Ringling Bros. pachyderm performers parade to the new Amway Center. The elephants will unload at 6:30 p.m. and walk beginning at 7 p.m. They’ll unload at the railroad tracks at the intersection of S. Hughey Ave. and W. Gore St. They’ll then travel south on S. Hughey Ave., turn right onto W. Gore St., turn right onto S. Division Ave., turn right onto W. South St., and enter the GEICO Garage.

Show times are:
Thursday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 15 at 11:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, Jan. 16 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

  1. The whole family loves the elephants. The kinship humans and elephants share are many. We are both capable of sadness, joy, love, jealousy, fury, grief, compassion, distress and rage. So after we saw dozens of photos of Ringling trainers using torture training techniques to make their baby elephants perform we refuse to attend another circus that uses animal acts. Breaks our hearts because we now know that these majestic and intelligent elephants are abused and beaten behind the scenes to make them entertain us for a few minutes.
Now we follow Tara & Bella, Tara an Asian elephant and her best friend Bella a stray yellow dog live together at The Elephant Sanctuary.

As parents it is our responsibility to distance our families from an industry that abuses their animals for money, we don’t want to teach our children that it is OK to abuse animals to entertain us.

  2. I concur completely. God didn’t make elephants to perform in the Amway Center to make money for those who would exploit them. It’s absolutely indefensible!
