Avast, mateys! Talk Like a Pirate Day be celebrated each year on Sept. 19, and what better way to enjoy it than by spending it at Walt Disney World?

5. Ride Pirates of the Caribbean
Grab your crew and set sail on a voyage to a time long ago, when pirates and privateers ruled the seven seas.
See boisterous buccaneers on this classic attraction as they celebrate their spoils and plunder, serenading you with their classic anthem, “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me). Be sure to smile pretty for yer’ ride photo!
4. Plunder for booty with A Pirate’s Adventure – Treasures of the Seven Seas
Captain Jack Sparrow is in need of your help, as there is treasure just waitin’ to be plundered! Help Captain Jack raid five treasures hidden throughout Adventureland, with the aid of your MagicBand or a magic talisman from The Crow’s Nest.
Guests can take part with five different maps, including “Heads You Lose,” “Guardian’s Curse,” Haven Defense,” “A King’s Ransom,” and “Blackbeard.”
If ye complete all five maps, you might just get a handsome reward…but ye didn’t hear it from me!
3. Sail for treasure aboard Pirate Adventure Cruises
If sailing is what your younger scallywags are after, then climb aboard for this sailing in search of treasure. Pirates ages 4-12 can choose from two pirate excursions that travel along the waterways of Walt Disney World. Each sailing costs $39-49, is kids-only and takes place each morning from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Young buccaneers can choose from the Islands of the Caribbean Pirate Cruise, which visits Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort; or the Albatross Treasure Cruise, which sails from Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.
2. Conclude a daring day with Pirates & Pals Fireworks Dessert Voyage
Celebrate the end of an adventurous day with a special sailing from Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The adventure begins with a delicious spread of snacks, includin’ cookies, cupcakes, ice cream bars and more.
Pirate crews can meet Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, who are ready and eager to meet their new recruits before setting sail.
Once everyone is ready, guests will embark on a nighttime voyage with the rogue pirate, Patch. He’ll test yer’ knowledge of Disney trivia, sing sea chanties, and lead you over to a perfect spot to view the “Happily Ever After” nighttime spectacular.
But keep a weather eye! There be more surprises in store for ye as you “fly” back home. This experience costs $72 for adults and $43 for kids ages 3-9. Reservations can be made online.
1. Complete your pirate transformation at The Pirates League
The only true way to feel like a pirate on Talk Like a Pirate Day …is to become one! Traverse on over to The Pirates League and have a Pirate Master turn ye into a themed pirate, Captain Hook, an Empress or a Mermaid with various makeover packages.
Pirates will start their experience by receiving their very own pirate name, and change into any costumes they might have brought or purchased. Then, a Pirate Master will be paired with each potential pirate, and teach ‘em the ways of the seas. Once a pirate is completely transformed, things are made official with the Pirate Oath! Pirates will then receive their sword and sheath, and head to a secret room in search of treasure.
The best part? The whole family can participate! Guests need only be ages 3 and older to be transformed – no age limit here!
Packages range from $18.95 to $84.95, with various children’s costumes available for guests to choose from. Reservations can be made online, but beware – booking well in advance is advised.
As a bonus, if you’re visiting Disney Springs on this Talk Like a Pirate Day, you can have a photo shoot fit for Captain Jack himself at the Disney PhotoPass Studio!
