A different kind of train experience is coming to Walt Disney World, as Brightline and the resort have agreed to build a train station at Disney Springs.

The Brightline station will offer convenient travel between Walt Disney World Resort and other Brightline stations at Orlando International Airport (MCO), Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and planned stations in Aventura, Boca Raton and Port Miami. Brightline’s expansion from West Palm Beach to MCO is on track to be completed in 2022.

The design concept for the station at Disney Springs includes a lobby on the ground floor, passenger facilities, and an upper level train platform.

“Brightline will offer a car-free connection to the millions of visitors from around the state and the world who plan to make Walt Disney World Resort part of their vacation plans,” said Patrick Goddard, president of Brightline. “Our Mission has always been to connect our guests to the people and places that matter, and Walt Disney World Resort is a tremendous example of this.”

“We’re excited to work with Brightline as they pursue the potential development of a train station at Walt Disney World Resort, a project that would support our local economy and offer a bold, forward-looking transportation solution for our community and guests,” said Jeff Vahle, president of Walt Disney World Resort.

What do you think of this new transportation option coming to Disney Springs? Would you take the train to one of the various stops during your Disney vacation? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

  1. Would DEFINITELY take a train from MCO to Disney World! Hopefully, time would be fairly comparable to Magical Express bus ride.

  2. I must assume that this train line will not have any stops near Universal. This matter has stalled high-speed or Mag-Lev lines serving the theme parks for decades!

  3. I would love to use the train to Disney from the airport. Even more exciting, other places I can easily reach and check out since I often come for 2 weeks and I have many British families that come for 3 weeks. Exciting!
