As far as safety precautions go, Cinemark has an extensive, detailed rundown on their official website. Highlights of these measures include:

  • Thorough sanitization at least every 30 minutes, with auditoriums disinfected every morning and seats sanitized before every movie
  • Ample supply of hand sanitizer and seat wipes
  • All employees must wear face coverings and gloves, with frequent handwashing and changing of gloves required
  • Reduced auditorium capacities and staggered showtimes
  • Face coverings required for guests while in the theater, though they can be removed when eating or drinking inside the auditorium
  • Popcorn and drink free refill program suspended to reduce contact points

According to a recent press release, other Cinemark theaters across the country will begin to reopen starting Friday, July 24. Shortly afterward, the film industry will move full speed ahead with anticipated releases like “Unhinged” on July 31 and “The Broken Hearts Gallery” on Aug. 7, followed by “Tenet” on Aug. 12, “Mulan” on Aug. 21, “Bill & Ted Face the Music” on Aug. 28, and “A Quiet Place Part II” on Sept. 4 — pending any possible future delays.

Still waiting on an official reopening date, however, is AMC Dine-In Disney Springs 24 at Walt Disney World Resort. According to the AMC website, most theaters will reopen on Thursday, July 30. As of the time of writing, no tickets are available for any showings on that day or afterward at the Disney Springs location.
