The news was shared via an official statement from Universal Orlando, which you can read below:

Based on new guidelines from the CDC, face coverings will no longer be required indoors or outdoors for fully vaccinated guests at Universal Orlando Resort beginning Saturday, May 29. While we will not require proof of vaccination, we do expect our guests to comply with this revised policy and to use face coverings if they have not been vaccinated. The health and safety of our guests and team members remains our top priority as we continue our thoughtful return to regular operations.

Team members are still required to wear face coverings while in the park, as there may be times when social distancing is not possible when assisting guests.

Fully vaccinated guests are not required to wear face coverings during their visit, including while on rides or viewing shows. Non-vaccinated guests are asked to wear face coverings at all indoor locations, including indoor attractions. Face coverings are optional for outdoor queues and rides.

Universal is the latest theme park in Central Florida to do away with mask requirements to this level; this update comes just two weeks after the resort shared that vaccinated guests no longer had to wear masks in outdoor areas.

Walt Disney World Resort and SeaWorld Orlando will likely be next, though neither have made an announcement at this time; Disney still requires masks to be worn in all indoor areas and when riding or in line for rides. As of May 25, SeaWorld employees are no longer required to wear masks if they are vaccinated.
