Virgin is setting out on the high seas with their brand-new cruise line.

“I’ve dreamed of starting my own cruise line since I was in my 20’s, and now the launch is finally getting close,” said Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Voyages. “We have taken the time to think about every detail and craft an experience that brings the Virgin brand to life and disrupts the travel industry.”

Virgin Voyages will offer a fun and cheerful approach to its service. Cruisers will be able to enjoy free food at over 20 eateries onboard, free group fitness classes, no gratuities or service charges, free Wifi and basic beverages like soda, teas, and drip coffee, as well as still and sparkling water.

“At Virgin Voyages we are going beyond just great design, to defy and redefine luxury to be rebellious luxe,” said Tom McAlpin, president and CEO of Virgin Voyages. “This new luxury is about knowing you are taken care of, that you’re never being nickel and dimed, and what you want, even some of the things you didn’t know you wanted, are already taken care of for you.”

All voyages with this new cruise line will feature The Beach Club at Bimini, a Virgin Voyages experience in Bimini, Bahamas. There, guests can enjoy a fun beach day and explore the island culture of Bimini.

Guests can find plenty of high-energy and quiet spots at The Beach Club. Mornings there will start with yoga and meditation as Sailors enjoy the sounds of the sea. In the afternoon, DJ-led pool and flotilla parties will take over. At night, a beach bonfire will wind things down and close out the day with an acoustic musical performance.

Grammy Award-winning artist and producer Mark Ronson will be The Beach Club’s founding DJ and be among the first talent to run the turntables. Ronson will also help curate the soundtrack and music offerings for The Beach Club.

The club will also offer complimentary food with locally-inspired menus, featuring island favorites like conch and mango salad, banana leaf-wrapped queen snapper, Bahamian rum cake, and more.

Guests staying in RockStar Suites at the club will have their own dedicated bar, complimentary food service, an outdoor terrace lounge, sun loungers, and beach cabanas.

As for events on the ship, named “Scarlet Lady,” Virgin Voyages will offer a festival-like lineup. Guests won’t just watch the shows, they might even be asked to become a part of them.

Keeping with the new cruise line’s rebellious nature, there will be no traditional cruise director on board the ship; instead, the ship will have a specific group of people dedicated to keeping the fun going.

The ship will also offer the first transformational multi-form theater at sea, The Red Room. This theater will be able to transform into four different configurations – a Proscenium stage, an alley stage used in fashion shows, a flat dance floor, and a unique reverse stage.
