Explore the 90-year journey of Mickey Mouse with this new Walt Disney Family Museum exhibit.

Running from May 16, 2019 – Jan. 6, 2020, this original exhibition will chronicle Mickey’s influence on art, pop culture, and entertainment over the past 90 years. The exhibit will tell the story of Mickey’s origin, rise to fame, and enduring influence in relation to Walt Disney’s own inspiring story.

Guest curated by animator Andreas Deja, “Mickey Mouse: From Walt to the World” will feature more than 400 items, including never-before-seen and rare original sketches, character model sheets, and concept art, alongside nostalgia-inducing merchandise, vintage photos, and a variety of Mickey’s earliest and most recent animated short films.

Guests will also have the chance to see artistic interpretations of Mickey with this new exhibit. For the pop artists of the late 1950s-1960s, Mickey was the personification of culture at the time. “Mickey Mouse: From Walt to the World” will feature the iconic Mickey-inspired works created by artists like Andy Warhol, Gottfried Helnwein, and Wayne Thiebaud, as well as modern works by Tennessee Loveless, Lorelay Bove, Eric Robison, and muralist Sirron Norris.

You can experience “Mickey Mouse: From Walt to the World” on display at the Walt Disney Family Museum inside the Diane Disney Miller Exhibition Hall from May 16, 2019 – Jan. 6, 2020.
