Experience holiday overlays in Toy Story Land, Diwali in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and more this holiday season at Walt Disney World

There is something for everyone this holiday season at Walt Disney World Resort. Starting Nov. 8, guests can find something festive and fun at all four parks.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The Flurry of Fun returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Nov. 8 – Jan. 6, with festive holiday fun and entertainment throughout the park:

  • Toy Story Land will feature seasonal added fun, like holiday songs on Alien Swirling Saucers

  • Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear will dress up in fun holiday outfits

Sunset Seasons Greetings will return this holiday to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

 

  • Sunset Seasons Greetings will return this year with new laser effects and “snow”
  • The nighttime fireworks spectacular Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! will combine projections, fireworks, special effects, music and “snow” to create a fun and explosive holiday experience
  • Guests can meet Santa Claus at the Once Upon a Time shop from Nov. 10 – Dec. 24, and Santa Goofy when he steps in for the big guy on Dec. 25.

Magic Kingdom

Mickey’s Very Mery Christmas Party runs on select dates this holiday season.

Whimsical decorations, holiday treats, and a glittering ice castle are some of what awaits guests at Magic Kingdom park this holiday.

The festivities at the Kingdom will also include Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a ticketed, limited-attendance holiday celebration on select nights starting Nov. 8.

Each night of the event will feature an exclusive showing of the Holiday Wishes fireworks, and performances of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade, A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas, and Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration on the Caste Forecourt Stage.

Guests can also enjoy complimentary cookies and hot cocoa as they take in the wintry beauty of Cinderella Castle, and meet their favorite characters in their holiday best.

Epcot

Dining packages are on sale this week for this year’s Candlelight Processional.

Guests will experience holiday traditions from 11 World Showcase countries during the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays starting Nov. 8. Other offerings from this festival include:

  • Seasonal bites from around the world served at Holiday Kitchens
  • Special entertainment celebrating each country’s holiday traditions in the World Showcase pavilions
  • Chip & Dale’s Christmas Tree Spree, a scavenger hunt where guests can help Chip and Dale collect ornaments for their Christmas Tree
  • The nightly fireworks display, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, along with the traditional holiday finale
  • One of the most popular Epcot holiday traditions, the Candlelight Processional, featuring the Christmas story told by a celebrity narrator backed by a 50-piece orchestra and choir

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

New for this year, guests can experience nature with a holiday touch with the inclusion of Diwali, the holiday Festival of Lights in India, as part of the new live bird show, UP! A Great Bird Adventure.

Disney Springs

Disney Springs will once again be the Disney destination for holiday shopping, dining and entertainment, with their festivities running from Nov. 8 – Jan. 5.

Guests can take a stroll through the Christmas Tree Trail, and see custom-decorated holiday trees dedicated to a Disney theme or character, like Mary Poppins, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, and more.

Over at Santa’s Chalet, Santa Claus will hear Christmas wish lists and welcome guests through Dec. 24. On Dec. 25, Santa Goofy will take over for him as he heads back to the North Pole.

Guests can also take part in Stitch’s Holiday Gift Hunt, and try to find where the mischievous Experiment 626 is hiding in Disney Springs.

Disney Resort Hotels

Resorts across Disney property will have their halls fully decked for the holiday season. Special offerings at the resorts include:

  • Life-sized edible creations will be found at select resorts:
    • A holiday gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be the home of The Bake Shop, where guests can pick up holiday treats
    • A life-size, edible spinning carousel is the tradition over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort
    • A holiday village with a miniature train will be found at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
  • In the lobbies of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, guests will be surrounded with the grandeur of huge Christmas trees.

Ring in the New Year at a Walt Disney World Resort

No holiday season is complete without ringing in the New Year, and there are two celebrations to choose from at Disney’s Contemporary Resort: Pixar Party: A New Year’s Eve Celebration, and Disney Countdown to Midnight, which includes an option to purchase VIP access to the Ink and Paint Club.

Both celebrations will feature entertainment, music, food and beverages, along with a viewing of the Magic Kingdom New Year’s Eve fireworks to close out 2018.
