What is your state’s most popular attraction? Take a look at this list

Recent research conducted by the online travel booking site Musement has identified the most popular attraction in every state of the country. Amusement and theme parks are the #1 attraction in 20% of the U.S. with 10 states, including Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort and California’s Disneyland Resort, having these attraction-filled destinations topping the list.

Other notable amusement and theme parks on the list include Ohio’s Cedar Point, Pennsylvania’s Hersheypark, and Virginia’s Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Wisconsin’s Kalahari Resort is the only waterpark to make a state’s top attraction. In addition to theme parks, Musement’s research identified states where national park and outdoor spaces, zoos and aquariums, historical sites and museums, and even shopping centers topped the list.

Not surprisingly, national parks top the list for many western states, such as Arizona’s Grand Canyon National Park, Montana’s Glacier National Park, Utah’s Zion National Park, and Wyoming’s Yellowstone National Park. Animal lovers can head to the Oklahoma City or Oregon Zoos, while the Georgia Aquarium, Mystic Aquarium (Connecticut), and National Aquarium (Maryland), all offer chances to visit the fishes. Those looking to shop ’til they drop can head to Minnesota’s Mall of America (perhaps also an amusement park), Vermont’s Church Street, or Washington’s Pike Place Market.
