Worlds of Fun unveils coaster vehicle for Zambezi Zinger at IAAPA Expo

Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Mo., will open a reimagined version of its Zambezi Zinger roller coaster for the 2023 season. The park revealed the coaster’s ride vehicle on Nov. 15, 2022 at IAAPA Expo in Orlando.

The coaster sits two riders side-by-side in a car meant to mimic a zebra-print Jeep, complete with headlights.

Guests will experience speeds of up to 45 mph along 2,482 feet of track.

The ride’s story involves that of a shuttered safari tour company reopening for business following a sighting of the thought-to-be-extinct Zinger.

Zambezi Zinger originally opened with the park in 1973, and was simply named Zinger. The updated coaster, which was first announced last August, will be a hybrid steel and wood coaster.

Zambezi Zinger is set to debut as part of the 50th anniversary of Worlds of Fun, which will also include the “50 Nights of Fire” special event and park-wide theming centered around Worlds of Fun being guests’ “passport to adventure.”

Worlds of Fun is operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. The park begins its 2023 season on Apr. 8, 2023.
