Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is the sequel to the video game based movie, Wreck-it Ralph. This next level of the movie series takes Ralph and Vanellope to the internet. Disney has spared no expense in the acquisition of numerous big name brands to properly represent the landscape of the internet.

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 Official Trailer

The trailer begins back at the arcade, with games like Hero’s Duty and Sugar Rush, the headlining games from the previous film.

The movie quickly showcases its Intellectual Properties (IPs), with Pac Man and Space Invaders. From this shot Ralph scares Vanellope to take her to the internet.

A recently installed internet modem is how Ralph and Vanellope make their way into the internet.

The IPs start strong with a very clear usage of the online shopping super-store Amazon, complete with drones flying in-and-out of the building.

A nearby Twitter Tree contains hundreds of Tweeters, spreading the daily gossip.

The next shot showcases numerous birds on the Twitter Tree. Once one bird tweets about Grumpy Cat other birds retweet the message again and again.

The Snapchat headquarters can be seen surrounded by thousands of other apps and websites.

This shot of the Social Media district has the massive Facebook. It also features companies like YouTube, Carvana, LadBible, mySpace, and much more.

Google dominates the next scene, much like real life Google on the internet. This shot also showcases IMDb, the Daily Boast, and much more. The top left of the shot also seems to allude to the iMessage messaging service by Apple.

This final city shot has everything from Mario’s mushrooms to National Geographic. A holographic cat was surely added as a joke towards the internet’s obsession with pets. The building under construction on the left is holding up a sign. This sign seems to suggest that there are numerous galleries of people to choose from for dating, much like Tinder.

The next shot presents Ralph and Vanellope with Knowsmore, the being behind the Searchbar. It also has an Adobe Photoshop stand.

Ralph is quickly aggravated with Knowsmore’s autofill suggestions. He repeatedly keeps trying to guess what Ralph is saying before Ralph can even utter a full word. Vanellope takes over and asks for “a website that is super intense and really nuts.” Knowsmore knows of only one location like that, Oh My Disney.

Disney clearly took this opportunity to gag on their own theme park locations, with thousands of people going in-and-out of the gates. There are also plenty of hotels fighting for attention, with logos alluding to Motel 6, La Quinta, and Day’s Inn.

Fans have been excited for this amount of collaboration since last year’s D23 Expo event about the movie. Every single Disney Princess in one film.

Vanellope is unimpressed, and even complains saying, “…princesses and cartoon characters, barf!”. Eeyore is there to hear it all, and replies in his usual not-so upbeat manner. In the background Iron-Man flies by, and causes the camera to get pulled over to another side of Oh My Disney.

This part of the trailer truly shows off Disney’s immense collection of IPs. There appears to be different convention areas featuring brands like The Muppets, Star Wars, Disney Animation, Marvel, and Pixar. This shot also features a Tie Fighter, the Millennium Falcon, an X-Wing, the UP House, Eve from Wall-E, Arlo from the Good Dinosaur, R2-D2, and Sorcerer Mickey atop his hat.

Stormtroopers, with armor designs closely related to The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, bust in and begin to chase Vanellope.

Vanellope, on the run, shows another shot of the land which features Beaker from the Muppets as well as Captain America’s Shield.

Vanellope glitches inside of the Princess only area, only to be immediately surrounded by all of the Princesses, ready to strike. Mulan and Merida launch in from the right to join the attack.

Cinderella smashes her glass slipper to create a shank, ready for anything.

Pocohantus’ hair moves in the wind when she jumps up, and continues to blow around nonstop throughout the entire scene. The Disney’s Princesses want to know if Vanellope is a true princess and ask her some questions. Has she been poisoned, cursed, kidnapped, or enslaved? Does she have magic hair or magic hands, or do animals talk to her?

Finally, they ask her the vital question, “Do people assume all your problems got solved because a big strong man showed up?” Vanellope answers yes, which immediately makes them see her as a Disney Princess.

The trailer ends with a shot of Yesss talking to Ralph and Vanellope about the movie’s name. Through the process of dialogue, all three characters break the fourth wall when they speak of a better name suggestion. Ralph suggests Ralph Wrecks the Internet instead of Ralph Breaks the Internet. This quick dialogue ends the trailer, with Yesss agreeing that Ralph’s idea for the name would sound better.

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 premieres in theaters nationwide November 21st, 2018.
