‘Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond’ has an opening date
Walt Disney World has announced a June 13, 2022 opening date for “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond” via Disney Parks TikTok.
“Finding Nemo – The Musical” stage show opened at Theater in the Wild in Disney’s Animal Kingdom park in January 2017, featuring larger-than-life puppets, live actors, and colorful backdrops, all set to catchy tunes such as “In the Big Blue World” and “Go with the Flow.”
Characters who joined Nemo on a journey of discovery included Nemo’s father Marlin, Mr. Ray, Dory, Bruce the shark, and the hip sea turtle, Crush.
During an extended closure due to the pandemic, the original musical was reimagined in collaboration with Pixar animation partners to include a whole new “big blue world” from the perspective of the aquarium fish in Dr. P. Sherman’s office, who viewers first met in the animated movie, “Finding Nemo.”
In the new 25-minute version of the show, which is set during the time frame in the animated movie “Finding Dory” and features dynamic new sets, the “Tank Gang” characters Gill, Bloat, Deb, Bubbles, and starfish Peach have crossed the ocean and been rescued by the Marine Life Institute, which was introduced in “Finding Dory.”
The gang is ready to be sent back into the ocean, cueing the chance to reminisce about their adventures with Nemo.
