Gideon’s Bakehouse brings back Eternal Flame for February

The Gideon’s Bakehouse Disney Springs location has drawn a large crowd since its official opening day, which clocked a nine-hour virtual queue. While they’re known for their excellent cakes, cold brew coffees, and other bakery items, the famous half-pound cookies are the star.

Gideon’s Bakehouse Eternal Flame Cookie ($6.00 each)

Gideon’s Bakehouse announced early this morning that a returning favorite, the Eternal Flame Cookie, returns for a third year as the February cookie of the month.

Gideon’s describes the Eternal Flame as “a velvety five-flavor chocolate cookie” with a special house-made ancho, cayenne, and cinnamon spice mix. The cookie is topped with chocolate chips and cherries. This chocolate cookie has a distinct taste that’s different from the standard cookies at Gideons’ Bakehouse, and they’re so soft you can cut them with plastic silverware.

The combination of cherry, ancho, cayenne, and cinnamon might not be some people’s first choice; however, the chocolate flavor itself deserves a try. Gideon’s Bakehouse claims this is a medium-level item on its heat scale, and we felt the cayenne offered this cookie’s most powerful “heat,” but you’re not a fan of spice, you might want to share this cookie with a few people. As usual at Gideon’s Bakehouse, guests should expect many chocolate chips.

Gideon’s Bakehouse Eternal Flame Cake ($9.00 per slice)

The limited-time Eternal Flame Cake consists of a three-layer double-frosted chocolate cake. One layer is red cherry buttercream, and the outer layer provides a touch of spice with chocolate fudge buttercream mixed with some of the same spices from the Eternal Flame cookie, but Gideon’s claims this cake offers a “limited” amount of spice, so it’s less than the cookie. This cake also looks great with cherry roses of red ganache.

The Eternal Flame cake will be sold every Wednesday and Saturday this month.

Fire and Iced Cold Brew Coffee ($6.00)

This Mocha Nitro Cold Brew joins rounds out the monthly specials for February. Gideon’s Bakehouse notes this cold brew is smooth with a warm spice finish. They also state the heat level on its scale would be “hot” if you drink it quickly. Cold brews are only sold at the Disney Springs location.

As with all new themes at Gideon’s Bakehouse, there’s a collectible menu card. This month the menu card theme revolves around lost love with a new tale about Monaxia.
