UPDATED: Mickey’s Toontown to reopen in Disneyland on March 8, 2023
Mickey’s Toontown play area in Aneheim, California’s Disneyland Park will officially reopen on March 8, 2023.

The land will now feature Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which is set to open on January 27, 2023, more than a month before the rest of the reimagined area. The trackless dark ride opened in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2020, and its Disneyland counterpart will be hosted in the El CapiTOON Theater.
Mickey’s Toontown will provide open, grassy play spaces for everyone to unwind, starting with CenTOONial Park, the first space guests will see when they enter the land. CenTOONial Park will be anchored by two new interactive play experiences; a beautiful fountain featuring water tables designed for play that invite guests to have a sensory experience, plus a nearby dreaming tree with sculpted tree roots providing an opportunity for children to crawl and explore.
Goofy’s house and Donald’s boat have both been upgraded, and Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard has been added behind his home, complete with a sound garden and an elevated clubhouse.
Inside his house will be an elaborate candy-making machine with interactive parts for guests to activate.
As for Donald’s boat, it has crashed into a duck pond, creating a water play area with giant spinning water lilies, balance beams, and rocking toys. Guests can interact with Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby as they peek into the portholes of the flooded boat.
Two pre-existing attractions in Toontown will remain – Gadget’s Go Coaster (formerly known as Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster), and Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, which received updates shortly before the land closed earlier this year.
As for dining, two new restaurants are opening in Mickey’s Toontown. Café Daisy will serve up diner classics at Daisy Duck’s sidewalk table eatery, while the Toontown Farmers Market at Good Boy! Grocers will offer grab-and-go drinks and treats.
Some staples of Toontown will not be surviving the reopening. The character fountains of Mickey Mouse and Roger Rabbit have been removed from their respective courtyards, and Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Treehouse was also demolished.
