Superman flying coaster and Lex Luthor ride coming to Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is preparing to add two new DC Comics attractions that will bring Superman and Lex Luthor to the forefront of the indoor theme park’s growing lineup.
The announcement includes ‘Kryptonite Collider,’ an immersive Lex Luthor-themed thrill ride opening July 26, and ‘Superman Up and Away,’ a next-generation flying roller coaster scheduled to debut in 2028.
The additions mark a significant milestone for Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, which opened in 2018 as the world’s largest indoor theme park. While the park is home to Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, The Joker, Justice League and other DC characters, its attractions have largely consisted of dark rides, simulators and family experiences. Superman Up and Away will become the park’s first major DC-themed roller coaster.
Become one of Lex Luthor’s latest test subjects
Opening July 26, Kryptonite Collider places guests inside one of LexCorp’s newest experiments.
According to Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and Miral, visitors will volunteer as test subjects for Lex Luthor’s Everyman Project before boarding a 32-passenger thrill ride featuring synchronized motion, lighting, sound and special effects inspired by Superman’s infamous rival.

The attraction expands the Metropolis area with a story that puts guests directly into one of Lex Luthor’s ambitious scientific experiments.

Superman takes flight in 2028
The second attraction, ‘Superman Up and Away,’ is expected to open in 2028 and will anchor the next phase of the park’s DC expansion.
The flying roller coaster will send riders soaring alongside Superman through the skies above Metropolis, creating an experience that captures the sensation of flight. Additional details about the coaster’s layout and ride system have not yet been released. Visuals and concepts are not yet available for this attraction, but Superman has inspired roller coasters around the world for nearly three decades.

If it opens as planned in 2028, Superman Up and Away will become the first all-new Superman coaster in more than a decade. The attraction will give Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi a new signature thrill ride while expanding the park’s collection of Superman experiences.

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi features six immersive lands based on DC Comics and classic Warner Bros. animation, all housed within a fully enclosed, climate-controlled park on Yas Island.
The additions also continue Miral’s strategy of expanding Yas Island with world-class attractions. Over the past decade, the company has opened SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, expanded Yas Waterworld, announced a Harry Potter-themed land for Warner Bros. World and partnered with Disney on its upcoming Abu Dhabi resort. The new Superman and Lex Luthor attractions further strengthen Warner Bros. World as one of the island’s marquee destinations.
With Kryptonite Collider opening this summer and Superman Up and Away on the horizon, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is adding two headline attractions that continue the evolution of one of the region’s premier theme park destinations.
