The Disney Investor 2020 event made for a historically big day for Star Wars and Disney+ alike. During this event there were massive new slate releases for Marvel Studios, the Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, National Geographic and Star Wars. Disney confirmed the names of nine new Star Wars series for Disney+, and the confirmation of the next big Star Wars feature film, “Rogue Squadron.”
With the massive success of the “The Mandalorian” on Disney+, and with Disney’s quality-first business strategy, comes the next set of Star Wars offerings to Disney’s streaming service. Currently in early development, ‘Lando,’ is an upcoming Star Wars series exclusive to Disney+.
Take a deep breath, Star Wars fans: “Star Wars: Episode IX” will begin filming on Aug. 1 at London’s Pinewood Studios. Today, the cast lineup was revealed for the film, with a few surprises in who’s returning.
