Hilton Orlando adds ‘The Promenade’ for expanded outdoor functions

The Hilton Orlando on International Drive next to the convention center, recently opened “The Promenade”, a large outdoor space for special events such as weddings, receptions and parties.

The Promenade’s transforms two acres of land at the corner of International Drive and Destination Parkway. A barrier wall has been constructed along the perimeter of the space. The Promenade’s four distinct outdoor venues, built at a cost of $2.1 million, add an additional 50,000 square feet of meeting and event space to the hotel. The new area also includes a unique fountain that lights on fire at night.

“This new space which we are calling The Promenade, was specifically designed around the guest’s experience,” said General Manager Doug Gehret. “The Promenade has four distinct spaces and lawns for large scale events, or more intimate gatherings surrounded by unique gardens, a centerpiece fountain with fire and water and a culinary team second to none.

“On this site, national and international companies will bring their people together, there will be joyous weddings, nonprofit organizations will make a difference, politicians will network and it will be a place where groups of people will come together to get to know one another and celebrate life’s events,” said Gehret.
