Today, a few elephants were hooked up to the new Dumbo ride Disney is adding to the Storybook Circus area of the Fantasyland expansion, and our roving reporters spotted some men in hard hats testing them out.

In the first half of 2012, Great Goofini’s Barnstormer coaster, Fantasyland Train Station and the first half of the Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction will open to the public. The existing Dumbo attraction will close and eventually be moved along side of the new Dumbo ride. Giving guests a double Dumbo experience, each Dumbo attraction will rotate a different way. The Dumbo seen in the video below rotates clockwise, which is unusual to see for those used to the current ride.

A “big top” queue area with interactive games will entertain those waiting to ride Dumbo. Completion of the new Fantasyland is scheduled for 2014 with most new experiences open by 2013.
