This summer, guests can not only take on Tigris at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, but also enjoy new animal encounters with rhinos and sloths.
Reservations are now available for the sloth and rhino encounters – two new programs that will take guests behind the scenes and let them spend time with these animals. Each tour offers the chance to learn more about the animal care at Busch Gardens Tampa, plus hands-on activities.
Sloth fans can take it slow and get up-close with one of Busch Gardens’ sloths! This behind-the-scenes 30-minute tour of Animal Connections will let guests see where the sloths like to hang out and learn more about their diets by helping to feed them! This inside look also includes hands-on opportunities alongside the keepers who provide daily care.
This 45-minute off-road tour brings guests closer than ever to the two species of rhino that reside at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. An expert guide will take guests behind-the-scenes to see the park’s animal care in action, and give guests the chance to touch one of the white rhinos.
After that, the tour travels to the center of the 65-acre veldt to meet Jody, an endangered black rhino, where guests can feed her one of her favorite snacks. On the tour, guests will learn more about the healthcare and habitats of the animals, and learn about current conservation efforts to protect them in the wild.
These two new animal encounters are part of a lineup of 10 animal experiences now offered at Busch Gardens Tampa, including the “Keeper for a Day” program. The tours start at just $59.99 per person, and advance reservations are encouraged as space is limited on all tours.
