To celebrate the 60th anniversary of SeaWorld, Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek near Orlando, Fla. partnered with the marine life theme park to create custom Antarctica-inspired suites available for members and guests to rent from Aug. 1 – Sept. 8, 2024.

SeaWorld Suite at Club Wyndham

This decorated one-bedroom Antarctica suite can accommodate up to four guests and can exclusively be purchased by non-members in three- or four-night blocks. Club Wyndham vacation club owners have the option to stay in a two-bedroom themed suite if desired.

When guests enter the suite (of which even its exterior is decorated with “carved ice”), they are gifted with some take-home souvenirs next to a table filled with Antarctic-themed games they can play during their stay. 

In addition to themed lights and projections, posters, artwork, plush toys, and pillows, this suite has decorated furniture from lampshades to an igloo-wrapped refrigerator next to a snow cone-making machine which can be utilized during a stay. The suite is also kept at a cooler temperature to add to the theming. 

The theming does not stop when one steps onto their patio, as a fence has been built and penguin decorations placed into the garden area for an immersive touch.

Package Inclusions

When a three- or four-night stay (minimum) is booked (rates begin at $439 per night), occupants will receive four one-day tickets to SeaWorld Orlando, a complimentary parking pass, Penguin Encounter tickets, All-Day Dining passes, and SeaWorld reserved seating passes in addition to a one-time Quick Queue pass and a one-day PhotoKey access pass. 

Penguin Encounter

After touring the themed suite, I visited SeaWorld for the Penguin Encounter. This 30-minute tour provided me and the other 11 or so park-goers with the opportunity to get up close and personal with a group of Magellanic penguins in their new habitat.

Although the penguins could not be touched, tour goers could step within feet of them in their habitat and ask the keeper questions while taking photos. 

After seeing so many penguins at the suite, I thought the tour was the perfect way to end the day and learn more about the animals that decorate a large portion of the suite. 

Overall Thoughts 

I found the custom-designed Antarctica suite to meet the mark on theming from the moment I entered Tower 1 (which was noticeably cooler) to the moment I left the building. I also think the fact that a portion of the booking costs are donated to the SeaWorld Conservation Fund helps justify the higher cost for the spacious room. When you account for the fact that tickets and dining vouchers are provided, I think the suite is worth its higher price tag. 

Antarctica Now Open, Penguin Trek TBA

SeaWorld Orlando reopened its Antarctica area on May 25, 2024. The new Penguin Trek roller coaster, located within the Antarctica section of the park, will open sometime this summer (date TBA).
