New ‘Pac-Man Geo’ mobile game lets you turn real roads into mazes

Forty years after its release, Pac-Man is taking it to the streets with the brand new “Pac-Man Geo” mobile game. Available for Apple iOS and Google Android devices, this new game takes a classic character and throws him into new mazes and obstacles – only this time, these mazes can be found in real life instead of behind an arcade game screen.

“’Pac-Man Geo’ is breaking the traditional concept of the Pac-Man maze and allows Pac-Man to be played in real locations around the world for the first time ever in its 40-year history,” said Director of brand marketing Dennis Lee. “As Pac-Man continues to celebrate his 40th anniversary in 2020, Bandai Namco Entertainment is finding ever more innovative and fun ways to create new Pac-Man experiences for fans young and old to play.”

Pac-Man can now roam the streets of New York, Paris, Tokyo and more in search of landmarks and maybe even some power pellets along the way. Even our publisher Matt Roseboom created a map for Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort, which can be seen below. Of course, Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde will be chasing Pac-Man along the streets, so watch out for those ghosts!

Working in collaboration with Google Maps, “Pac-Man Geo” is the first for the classic game, taking an old favorite and modernizing it for generations to come. For more information about the new game or others by Bandai Namco, visit their website
