Batman Gotham City Escape now open at Parque Warner Madrid
Parque Warner Madrid – a theme park dedicated to Warner Bros. movies – has debuted the Batman Gotham City Escape roller coaster, the only multi-launch attraction in Spain.
With a story based on Gotham City’s notorious villains, the park’s newest attraction opened on May 13, 2023, taking riders on an adventure through Wayne Manor, the Batcave, and the Gotham subway.
Batman Gotham City Escape Storyline
Soon after Bruce Wayne opens the doors of his iconic mansion, an unknown signal informs Parque Warner Madrid visitors that they’ve been taken hostage – and now they must escape the clutches of Gotham City supervillains The Joker, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy.
After making their way through secret rooms (like the never-before-seen Batcave) and the Gotham City subway on a unique six-minute narrative walking tour accompanied by Batman himself, riders reach Spain’s first multi-launch attraction.
The coaster features multiple projection points along a 3,300-foot route in 111 seconds with sound and effects onboard its 12-passenger trains. One of the attraction’s most unique features is its maximum angle of inclination, a 98-degree drop from the 147-foot-high top hat, with spectacular views of the park.
But the adventure has just begun. The second launch brings guests face-to-face with DC villain Poison Ivy on the grounds of Robinson Park and then continues at top speed with twists, turns, descents, and ascents through another four inversions and two launches, reaching a speed of over 60 miles per hour in a matter of seconds.
Batman Gotham City Escape has a minimum height requirement of 52 inches and a maximum height requirement of 78 inches (6’5”).
