How to get the Batman popcorn bucket
The Batman popcorn bucket launched on Aug. 28, 2024 at AMC Theatres while supplies lasted … and it didn’t last long. The item is now sold out, but fans who missed out can pre-order their own bucket for the next round of shipments, expected to be ready Feb. 28, 2025. The item costs $37.
Like other AMC novelties, the Batman popcorn bucket (Batket? Batcorn bucket?) was available for purchase during its initial launch through AMC’s online checkout in the same transaction as customers’ movie tickets, as well as in person at physical AMC Theatres locations. It remains to be seen if the 2025 batch will make it to cineplexes or remain online.
The size of a large popcorn tub, the bucket doesn’t just resemble the Bat-Signal; it is the Bat-Signal. The Batman popcorn bucket actually lights up and casts the famous silhouette of the Dark Knight, as seen in the skies above Gotham when the hero is needed.
85 years of protecting Gotham
The Batman popcorn bucket debuted in celebration of the 85th anniversary of DC Comics’ Batman character, having first debuted in comic books in 1939. Also available was a lenticular cup showing illustrations of the Batmobile’s various models over the years.
The festivities included a one-night-only screening of the 2022 film “The Batman” (starring Robert Pattinson and directed by Matt Reeves) at select AMC Theatres on Aug. 28, 2024. After the movie, fans will got to see a sneak peek of the upcoming HBO series “The Penguin,” starring Colin Farrell and existing in the same universe as “The Batman,” which is now streaming on Max.
