Become a Coaster Crafter for Engineers Week at Epcot

Coaster Crafters outside Innoventions at Epcot for engineers week

As part of Engineers Week, Raytheon, the company behind the Sum of All Thrills attraction in Innoventions at Epcot, is holding daily hands-on demonstrations teaching just what makes a roller coaster work.

Participants will follow the lead of a couple of funny and informative “characters”: Doc Norman Norman, a professor at MathMovesU and Speed, his student assistant and a enthusiastic coaster fanatic. The pair will teach guests about things that most affect roller coasters such as speed, gravity, acceleration and velocity. Then, taking those things into consideration, participants must team up to get a ball (representing the coaster cars) all the way through a plastic tube (representing the coaster track).

Four shows are being held per day through Friday; 11:15 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:45 p.m. Sign up for free at the Sum of All Thrills attraction.
