Betty Crocker turns 105 at every U.S. Museum of Ice Cream this October

Betty Crocker is turning 105. We have to say that she looks wonderful for her age. In celebration of that milestone, Betty Crocker ice cream arrives at all five U.S. Museum of Ice Cream locations this October, plus a birthday bundle and special events in New York City and Las Vegas.

Throughout October, all five Museum of Ice Cream U.S. locations (New York City, Chicago, Miami, Boston, and Las Vegas) will serve an exclusive Betty Crocker ice cream flavor, host cake-themed room takeovers, and offer a limited-time birthday bundle. Additionally, the New York and Las Vegas locations host special one-day events.

What is in the limited-time Betty Crocker ice cream?

The star is Betty’s Birthday Cake, a scoop inspired by Betty Crocker Yellow Cake Mix and Chocolate Frosting, with soft yellow cake pieces and fudge swirls in a rich, creamy base.

It is available at every U.S. Museum of Ice Cream location all month.

On Wednesday, Oct. 14, two-time James Beard Award winner Christina Tosi leads an intimate Cake Crafting workshop at Museum of Ice Cream NYC in SoHo. Betty Crocker’s official birthday, Wednesday, Oct. 21, brings Betty’s Birthday Bash to the Little Pink Chapel in Las Vegas, with cake, ice cream, birthday games, surprise giveaways, and personalized ceremonies where guests can say “I do” to cake and ice cream. The first guest to check in with a verified Oct. 21 birthday receives a sold-out Cake Slice Purse from Betty Crocker’s Betty Ate line.

What’s inside a Museum of Ice Cream?

If you have never visited, these are not traditional museums. Museum of Ice Cream calls itself an “experium,” and visits are self-guided, typically running 60 to 90 minutes.

The signature attraction is the Sprinkle Pool, a swimmable pit of oversized plastic sprinkles, along with ice cream tastings, slides, and interactive photo-friendly installations.

Museum of Ice Cream has an Orlando location planned for Pointe Orlando, although an opening date has not been announced.

Exhibits vary by city. Chicago has a carnival-themed room and an Ice Cream Lab for hands-on experiments. Miami features a 1960s-inspired “Cream Liner” airplane, a Grand Hall of Freezers, and a double helix slide into the pool.

Las Vegas adds mini golf and a magic show. Tickets are available at museumoficecream.com.
