This is a dream opportunity for kids who want careers in the theme park industry.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is seeking to appoint a new Junior Board of Directors to help with the running of the park. Those who are chosen to join the Board will assist with the development of new merchandise, park marketing, and customer engagement strategies.

The new Board members must be between 11-15 years old, and be able to combine their passion for theme parks with a knack for business. Chosen candidates will be appointed to the Board for an initial two years, and have the chance to remain on the Board until the age of 16 pending a successful review.

This role will not only give a unique perspective to the park in developing new strategies and offerings, but also give kids the chance to get the first taste of professional life.

The Junior Board will be expected to demonstrate good time management skills, deliver on their assigned tasks, and work well with others.

“This is such an exciting opportunity for youngsters from across the UK, providing them with fun, thrilling and completely unique work experience,” said Amanda Thompson, managing director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach. “In the past, our junior directors have helped with some major decisions, even aiding in the creative thinking ahead of the launch of our new  £16.25 million roller coaster, ICON.”

Kids interested in applying are invited to submit an application in any form online to show why they believe they’re right for the job, be it written, photographic, video, or audio. Applications will close on Friday, Oct. 12 to be reviewed by a recruitment panel.

Those selected will go through to the next round in October, while shortlisted applicants will be invited to spend an action-packed day in the park before getting put through the paces with business challenges and activities.
